Proposals
Understanding workflows and review processes for proposals
Proposals are where you prepare changes to your catalog before they go live. Generate content, make manual edits, update hundreds of products - all in a safe space where nothing affects your live catalog until you publish.
Think of proposals as draft workspaces. Experiment with different approaches, adjust settings, regenerate content, and see exactly what will change before it syncs to Shopify, Centra, or other connected systems.
Why use proposals
Proposals let you prepare and review changes before they go live. This is especially valuable for AI-generated content where you might need a few iterations. Generate, adjust, regenerate - all without publishing anything prematurely.
Everyone in your organization can see proposals, making it easy to track work and collaborate. And if you need to undo something, proposals maintain complete history. Revert changes anytime, even months later.
Working with proposals
When you open a proposal, you'll see products on the left and their generated attributes on the right. Click through products to review what was generated for each one.
Step-by-step guides
New to proposals? Check out Generating with AI for a detailed walkthrough of creating and working with your first proposal.
Regenerating content
Not happy with what AI generated? Click Generation settings next to each attribute to adjust your instructions. AI automatically regenerates when you close the settings. Iterate quickly: adjust, regenerate, review, repeat.
Experiment freely
Don't worry about getting it perfect on the first try. Proposals are safe spaces to test different approaches. Try adjusting your instructions, regenerate, and see what works best.
Editing manually
Click directly on any generated content to edit it manually. Useful when AI gets close but you want to tweak details. Manual edits are preserved when you publish.
AI reasoning
The reasoning panel shows how AI approached each generation. Helpful for understanding AI's choices or diagnosing unexpected results.
Publishing
Click Publish next to individual attributes, or Publish all to publish everything for a product. For large bulk proposals, review and publish one at a time, or use auto-publish to handle everything automatically.
Managing proposals
Scheduling publication
Schedule proposals to publish automatically at a specific date and time. Perfect for coordinating product drops, seasonal releases, or launching collections exactly when you want them to go live. Learn more in the Scheduling proposal publication guide.
Auto-publish
For bulk proposals with many products, enable auto-publish by clicking the airplane icon in the left sidebar. Suggestions publish automatically as they become available. Enable it and come back later to find everything published.
Reverting
Click Revert to undo published changes for individual attributes. To revert an entire proposal, use the revert icon (circle arrow) in the left sidebar. For large proposals, reverting takes time - come back later to see everything restored.
Reverting makes proposals powerful for experimentation. Try an approach, publish it, see how it performs, and revert if needed.
Starting small
When working with bulk proposals, start with a few products first. Verify your settings work as expected, then scale up to a larger set - like a new collection or seasonal products. This saves time compared to generating hundreds of products only to realize your instructions need adjustment.
